‘Leadership is the Ability to Manage People and Relationship’ - HOS

The Head of the Delta State Civil Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko has advised staff of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission on the need to project a positive light so as to develop the ability to manage people and relationships, which is the fundamental key to effective leadership.

Mr. Bayoko, who was the Chairman of a 5-day workshop organized by the Delta State Contributory Heath Commission, mentioned this at the flag-off ceremony. While speaking, He said that ‘wherever you are, you are leaders in your own right. Try and project yourself at all times in a positive light’.

‘Prepare to be a leader if you want to lead, and you can only lead if you follow the leader that you know. In leadership, people and relationship are the most fundamental thing more than the individual task’, he stated.

‘You can come out with a first class, but if you cannot manage people and relationship, then the first class knowledge will not be effective. You need to also manage your energy. Know what gives you stress’.
